#ART is a tiny local-multiplayer drawing game for people crowded around one keyboard. Each participant claims a key, the group gets a brief burst to make a picture, and the finished piece joins a growing virtual exhibition. It is less about artistic control than coordinated chaos set to classical music.
What is #ART?
The clever constraint is that nobody gets a mouse, brush palette, or personal controller. A player joins with one keyboard key and keeps using that key during the drawing round, so the picture emerges from several limited inputs colliding on the same canvas. After 30 seconds, the game frames and names the result, then sends it to a gallery that accumulates work across rounds. There is no score judging whether the blob resembles a bunny; the pleasure is in making the blob together. That makes #ART feel closer to a party installation than a conventional painting tool, especially when several people can reach the keyboard at once.
What you can do there
- Join a round by choosing one keyboard key
- Draw together during a timed round
- Fill a shared virtual gallery with finished paintings
Why we picked it
One key per person is a wonderfully economical party-game rule. It turns ordinary keyboard hardware into a many-handed art controller, while the gallery gives every frantic round a satisfying little afterlife instead of throwing the result away.
How to get the most from it
Gather everyone around a desktop keyboard, let each person choose a different key, and begin with a small group so the control idea is easy to read. Play several rounds rather than judging the first canvas; the growing gallery is the real punchline. Press M if you want the optional fullscreen view.
Good to know
The browser build includes music and sound, which the creator says may take extra time to load. Laptop keyboards can reject too many simultaneous presses, and the web version may occasionally need a refresh if it stops accepting input. Windows and macOS downloads are also offered on a name-your-own-price basis, though the creator labels the macOS build as untested. Current touch and accessibility behavior remain unclear.
