Liberdade

A two-color classroom-born story that turns discourse and media into a pocket-sized experiment.

Liberdade is a very short Bitsy narrative Daniel Dante made while teaching a university class on storytelling. Its subject is discourse and media, its palette is deliberately spare, and its language split is unusual: Portuguese plays in the browser, while an English HTML edition is offered as a download.

What is Liberdade?

This is a small work with a surprisingly specific origin. Daniel Dante built it during a university narrative class, then released the Portuguese version as a tiny two-color Bitsy game about discourse and media. The landing page does not hand over a plot synopsis or a rules lecture; instead, it offers the browser piece and leaves the encounter compact. A later English edition lives in its own downloadable HTML file, making the translation feel almost like a second little artifact tucked beside the first. Come for a brief piece of pixel storytelling, not a sprawling system to master.

What you can do there

  • Play the original Portuguese browser edition
  • Download the English HTML edition
  • Read a compact work about discourse and media

Why we picked it

Liberdade has the appealing density of a handwritten note passed across a classroom: limited space, a clear subject, and room for interpretation. Its classroom origin and separate bilingual editions make it a distinctive bit of handmade web storytelling even before the first pixel starts talking.

How to get the most from it

Use the embedded player for the original Portuguese edition. For English, choose the download option and select the file named liberdade_freedom_.html. Set aside a short uninterrupted visit and let the piece establish its own rhythm; no account or long campaign is part of the pitch.

Good to know

The project is released and offered at a name-your-own-price amount. The English edition is a separate downloadable HTML file rather than the embedded browser version. Exact controls, sound, accessibility, phone behavior, story route, and ending were not tested, and no independent hands-on review was located.
