Sauce Bones

A one-button rescue mission for bones suffering a severe mustard emergency.

Sauce Bones is a compact precision platformer where the skeleton keeps moving and your main intervention is to switch gravity off at just the right moment. Its silly anatomical crisis hides a demanding momentum puzzle built for fast restarts and increasingly tidy runs.

What is Sauce Bones?

A wizard has converted somebody's bones into mustard, leaving you to shepherd loose skeletal parts back toward their unfortunate fleshy owner. The player is always in motion; left click or Space disables gravity, while right click or R restarts the current level. That tiny control vocabulary creates the whole challenge, turning timing and momentum into a series of ricocheting rescue operations. The post-jam version adds gentler early stages, more levels, mobile browser support, a pause menu, level skipping, a speedrun timer, and a comic ending. It is a neat example of a game getting mileage from one strong verb instead of a backpack full of buttons.

What you can do there

  • Disable gravity to steer moving bones
  • Restart a level quickly
  • Skip levels or enable a speedrun timer from pause

Why we picked it

The mustard-bone premise earns the first grin, but the disciplined control scheme earns the stay. Every level asks for a small adjustment in timing rather than another rulebook page, and the optional timer gives repeat visits a concrete purpose once survival turns into route polishing.

How to get the most from it

Start with left click or Space and learn how long the bones keep their momentum while gravity is disabled. Use right click or R for instant retries. If a stage becomes a wall, press Tab to pause and skip it; the same menu can enable the speedrun timer.

Good to know

The game advertises constant motion, difficult precision play, and an average session of about half an hour. The current browser build supports phones as well as keyboard and mouse. Music is credited to Clockmaker, and downloadable desktop builds are offered under name-your-own-price terms.
