Control Panel ON! turns a bank of unlabeled buttons and indicator lights into a compact pattern puzzle. Each press is part experiment, part percussion: watch the panel react, remember what changed, and gradually coax the lights into order.

What is Control Panel ON!?

The pleasure here is in poking first and understanding second. The panel gives you buttons, lights, and chunky keyboard-inspired sound, then lets patterns emerge through repetition. Some controls may feel opaque at first, which is also the point: the puzzle grows out of building a mental map of cause and effect. It is a small game-jam idea with the texture of an old machine that would very much like you to press everything.

What you can do there

  • Press panel buttons to change light patterns
  • Infer how each control affects the board

Why we picked it

A simple input becomes unusually tactile when the feedback is this immediate. The lights make each click legible, the Model M-inspired clacks give experimentation some heft, and the absence of long instructions leaves room for that satisfying moment when a pattern finally makes sense.

How to get the most from it

Turn the sound on, press one button at a time, and note which lights change. When the panel starts to feel random, slow down and test the same control again; the fun lives in recognizing repeatable effects rather than mashing every switch at once.

Good to know

This is a free single-player HTML5 puzzle made in Unity for the 2020 GMTK Game Jam. Audio is central to its charm. Touch support, keyboard navigation, save behavior, accessibility options, and the exact length or ending are not documented on the public page.
