Sea Breath is a surreal construction game about harvesting parts from fish and arranging them into horses before a ten-life run collapses. The project page supports browser play and a name-your-own-price Windows download, with mouse-wheel inventory navigation and documented controller controls. Its biological craft table is funny, specific, and not especially squeamish.

What is Sea Breath?

The sales pitch is one sentence long and already halfway to a fever dream: open fish, gather what is inside, and build the best horses you can. Sea Breath turns that premise into a small experimental simulation with a ten-life limit, an inventory of parts, and enough combinatorial freedom for players to report horses overloaded with eyes, extra hearts, pearls, and other marine leftovers. The page treats all of this with a straight face, which gives the oddity its bite. It also documents the practical edges unusually well for a tiny game: use the mouse wheel to move through inventory, connect a controller before launch for joystick and trigger mappings, run the HTML5 version in the browser, or take the compact Windows archive. The live game was not executed here, so the exact scoring logic and path from stitched specimen to successful horse remain mysteries for the paddock.

What you can do there

  • Open fish to collect unusual parts
  • Assemble horses from the collected parts
  • Manage a ten-life run

Why we picked it

Plenty of strange games have a funny premise; Sea Breath has a premise that also generates choices. Part combinations turn the joke into a system, and the limited-life structure suggests consequences without sanding off the absurdity. The project is tiny, legible, and immediately memorable, even before anyone has to explain why this particular horse has eleven eyes.

How to get the most from it

Choose Run game for the browser version and remember the page's one emphatic instruction: the mouse wheel moves through inventory. If you use a controller, connect it before launch; the left stick moves the cursor, the right trigger selects parts and opens fish, the left trigger removes parts or backs up, and the right stick scrolls the part menu. Treat the first run as rule discovery, because community comments suggest the levels and qualities may take a moment to decode.

Good to know

The game is listed for HTML5 and Windows, while the downloadable build uses a name-your-own-price model. Expect surreal biological assembly and fish-opening imagery. Gameplay, audio, saves, mobile support, accessibility, privacy, payment, and download safety were not tested, and substantial independent review coverage was not found. No screenshot was captured.
